How to shift times in Aegisub in Linux [with screenshots]

Sometimes it happens that subtitles are not passing to audio track in your video. There could be multiple reasons: another copy of the same film, for example, or a result of re-encoding video. For those cases Aegisub has embedded batch processor for timestamps, which can adjust start and ending points for existing timestamps.

Usage is very simple

1. Open subtitle file

2. Click "Timing" menu item in main menu.

3. Select an item "Shif Times..."

4. Set timing and direction (forward/backward).

Mask of "0:00:00.60" means: "h:mm:ss.ms" ("hours:minutes:seconds.miliseconds").

On a screenshot below timestamps are shifted backward for 1 second:

5. Click OK and review new timestamps.
